The shouting sample in Subtemple reminds me of "Cindytalk ‎– Camouflage Heart" somewhere....

Prorahun
At 5:30 - this is exactly the same as the end of Hiders off the Rival Dealer EP - except there's not a woman saying 'Come down to us.'

Thabel
Doomguy clearly knows nothing about ambient music. Beachfires is a majestic slice of ambient, and fellow ambientheads agree. S Roach, for the record, is rubbish.

Granijurus
It's not the best Burial though. Not buying this 10 incher...

Enditaling
I'm not a huge Burial fan or anything but I agree that Beachfires is wonderful. Not just gorgeous but interesting "compositionally" as well. Don't agree re: S. Roach, check out "Quiet Friend" at the very least!

Pad
My copy sometimes makes my needle get stuck in 1 groove about half way through the B side. Tested on 2 turntables and both have same issue.

Vivaral
It probably has a little nick in it, or sometimes a small piece of matter stuck on the record. If the later is the case, you can usually get it off.Locate the affected groove & study it under a bright light.Good luck!

Ugh, yet another disappointing release from Burial. Subtemple strikes me as a snippet of a larger, and yet unseen bigger picture. These tracks simply aren't substantial or satisfying enough to work on their own, but I think they would function pretty nicely as intro / interlude / outro tracks on a full length. They remind me of the more minimalist and restrained moments of an early Biosphere release but without the more "full" sounding tracks to accompany it, which I think is part of the reason these kind of tracks work in that context; they give the album some dynamic and contrast. But, if you have just 18 minutes of this on its own? No thank-you. These two tracks also sound unfinished, like there's some layers missing; particularly on the tail end of beachfires which ends in an inelegantly abrupt manner. If you want a more complete, better crafted minimalist ambient experience I really think something like Steve Roach would serve you way, way better. I can see why some people will eat this release up because they appreciate its aesthetic, which I do enjoy about it, but I seriously think this one is super weak in its structure and execution. And, of course, the cherry on the let-down icing; it's a 10" release instead of a 12". How appropriate. 1.5/5

luisRED
Very dark, atmospheric, rich in texture. A swerve ball from Burial. But damn I like it.

Siatanni
Stripped down, cinematic and cold. Cerebral Cortex Music. Listen, Think, Live.

Mikarr
Instant order, going to avoid listening to it until the record arrives and my family have gone out.

Ventelone
Mummy and daddy just don't appreciate the Burial vibez, huh?

Zeleence
How do five people find this comment helpful? It's LITERALLY "I haven't listened to it but I'm a burial fanboy so it's good lol"

RUL
Just ordered it off Boomkat. Can't wait! I still want the Goldie remix. Can anyone confirm that is getting a reprint?

komandante
THX MATE! ;)Ten words needed so: Thanks Eatdogs! Thanks Eatdogs!

Authis
I mentioned this above, but there is in fact a repress coming this July. You can order it now on the Metalheadz site. Silver vinyl.

Yozshubei
GO TO METALHEADZ NOW TO PRE-ORDER! No joke, the Goldie split is getting reissued and on silver vinyl. I just ordered mine. Supposed to be released in this July.

Winasana
I asked to Metalheadz----->REPRESS IS COMING! :D some more words: I asked to VF too if they will ever repress the Massive Attack collabo with Burial...but no answer received... :(

Dead Samurai
I was pretty sure that the press release said the Goldie remix was limited to 1500. I doubt it will get a repress, simply because the RSD release was on black vinyl. So the RSD edition seems like a 'standard edition'. I would say it will definitely come out in some other way though - bonus track on the new Goldie album or part of a greatest hits or something. On the other hand, I might be completely wrong and be slightly annoyed at Metalheadz!

ME
Excellent ambient Burial. Wish it was a 12". Not a fan of 10" vinyl in general.
