The Vacation Tapes were shot on Super 8 Film by Grateful Dead manager Richard Loren and others as a way to document the band, crew, family and friends' trip to Egypt.

All other tracks recorded 9/16/78.

"Stagger lee", Ollin Arageed" & "Fire On The Mountain" were first issued as bonus tracks on the reissue of the album "Shakedown Street", included in the boxed set "Beyond Description (1973-1989)", Grateful Dead Productions/Rhino #76491 (10/04). All other selections previously unissued.
