This isn't a free for all session what one might expect given the size of the group. The first track is actually a trio of the double basses. It seems, that the track ends before it even has started. The other 3 pieces are fine demonstrations of group interaction. The participants do not play together most of the time. The listener doesn't really know, what and when a muscian enter or leaves, not mention what he plays. The musicians are very well placed in the stereo mix, especially the 3 double basses and this benefitted the record a lot. This album is recommended to listeners who favor silence and thoughtful improvising.
