This is a split EP between two American heavy weights, Jay Denham on the A side and Chance McDermott on the flip, published on Denham’s long time alive and kicking label. Fade II Black’s Tweekin is just that, tweaking and mental, old school pounder in my opinion ruined by the screaming "I don’t want your love!" diva vocals. I’m sure they came across as cool on plenty wild raves back in the day, but they don’t do anything plausible here.Moon Mist is a fast paced acid techno track with a sweet, gentle melody occasionally lurking behind the really rabid 303s, but mostly during the breaks. Those few pauses aside, this is a slamming avalanche of furious acid rain drops dashing atop an equally devastating kick. Those who dug Woody McBride mid west sound will be at home with this one as well. The B side kicks off with Trakmo, a weird experimental track with awkward, unpleasant sound effects randomly scattered all over. It does have certain appeal, especially if you’re into that stuff which doesn’t seem to want to fit in any particular category. While outlandish, seven minutes of this stuff is an overdose. Since it practically refuses to go anywhere, or serve any given purpose, after a few minutes it isn’t even fun any longer. Some five and a half minutes deep an additional layer of xylophone keys is added, but by that time there’s little he could have done to redeem himself, and that’s what happens, as the tune gets no better at all.Endangered Technology’s Digital Overthrow is an over the top techno banger with loads of shrieking, sharp and loud effects. Remember the early Landstrumm sound? Well, if you like that, you ought to like this as well. Chafing and rough techno that’ll pierce right through your skin pores. I like it!Overall, an OK release with two great track and two forgettable ones. One is an acid slammer, the other is a sledge hammer old school techno cut like they use to make them. If you come across it in a local store for small change, pick it up, if only for B2 track.
