Notes

Title is "?", a question mark. The round white sticker bearing the title is stuck on the protective plastic sleeve containing the release, not on the actual cover.

Handmade cover, each release is different. The inset squares on front cover and inside the front cover are both fragments of larger original paintings. White CDr ink-stamped and stenciled. Signed by Steven Stapleton.

Sold at the NWW gigs in Torino 2012-05-17 and Florence 2012-05-18 as well as on subsequent Nurse With Wound live concerts.

A terrible burn job! CD has 3 second breaks between tracks, which should run continual. Paid over $150 for the damn thing! Wrote to Steven at ebay site and got no reply. If you are going to make a CDr, at least make it right!

My copy has about 4 seconds silence between tracks- clearly not supposed to be there. I have "second edition." It is a great disc but annoying to get into the groove and be derailed by the pauses. Anyone else have this problem? I wonder if it was just on the second run (supposedly of 10 copies).

It would be easy for them to edit out the silence. I mean come on.... Steve is as much of an expert as anyone at editing sounds. Lazy is right... I wonder how much he was involved with it. My guess is probably not much as he is usually very particular about the quality of his output.

Interesting to note that the WEB (bandcamp) release of this CDr suffers from the same gap issue which is very annoying. It is not a product of the burn as if you examine the files carefully you will see there is not digital silence between tracks. I have been told by the label producing the WEB releases from CDrs that this is due to the way the venue records the shows, but this doesn't explain why they would be so lazy releasing the final mastered version in this way as it could easily be fixed.

This is common on many of their live show CDr's. But interestingly they have even carried this onto their web / bandcamp digital downloads. I find it extremely annoying and have complained to the label but they told me it is how the artist intended (complete BS)...Just sloppy.

It was from someone within their inner circle. I know it is official. I can fix it but would rather have a proper original. I think when they went to do the second edition, they did not burn it properly. I am wondering if anyone with the original given out at the live show notices the same thing.
