What is the "Frisian Metal Massacre Vol.1" project (FMM)

FMM is a project with the aim to promote Frisian metal bands. Instead of being released on the now obligatory CD, the project has been released on vinyl (LP) and eventually on vinyl single 7". The focus, in terms of musical content, lies on a wide genre within the metal.

The project was first conceived within the hallowed halls of Big Bad Wolf Records in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. After listening to several CD's from the bands Dimaeon, Disintegrate, Insidiae and later on Leaper's Path, the need arose for a different approach.

When the 'plan' could count on a lot of enthusiasm, the search to find sponsors to finance this project started. This happened relatively quickly. Because of which, Volume 1 is entirely financed by these sponsors. The release of the LP will be on the 18th of September 2011 in Poppodium Romein in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. The four bands will join God Dethroned in celebrating the five year anniversary of Poppodium Romein (no entry fee).

The goal of releasing FMM vol.1 is to generate enough income to release one or more new volumes. We hope that 'Frisian Metal Massacre Vol. 1' will get a lot of little brothers and sisters! METAL/
