Nothing to do with the rap collective of the same abbreviation (the promo surfaced under the guise M.O.P.), this initially apt act makes beats of the punk-funk housed-up variety. From the moment the needle drops, its Moroder/Summer ‘I Feel Love’ bassline that comes to the fore and blends perfectly with the tripped vocals (I’m sure they’re muttering something about “killing that stuff”?), burbling acidic chords, and flying sci-fi effects. On paper perhaps not sounding like a perfect match, but on vinyl the melting pot is an effective one – although this still screams out for a vocal hook line.
