Bal-Sagoth's masterful debut album is the first of a series of releases that Cacophonous has remastered. Reworked by Danny [Pentagram Chile] at HVR Studios, the album has had new cover art commissioned for it along with a new layout.

Included is a lyrics booklet; pre-ordered copies also come with a sew-on patch.

Great remaster, the drums are much more detailed, bass is punchy and the keys are spacious. However, the clarity works to the detriment of the overall keyboard sound and guitar tone, revealing their inherent flaws in the process. Definitely worth getting, and the included lyrics booklet is a great boon, with some tracks having additional notes to link them better to the overall saga.
