this record for a factory record is so underrated..its very good..would recommend picking it up if you ever see it in a record store.

If I had a list of most overlooked/unknown albums Alma Mater would be right there near the top. Maintaining the trademark Factory bleak gray overtones, the Stockholm Monsters also brought a bright urgency to their sound. Often employing a trumpet to punctuate their rebellious spirit, the Monsters capture a childlike quality that is the perfect blend of innocence meets experience. The songs tend to run into each other building upon the spontaneous feel I get every time the album plays. Although part of me wishes they had created more masterpieces like this, there's something to be said for their short-lived brilliance which gives this moment-in-time recording a timeless pool in which it lives and never grows old.
