A lovely record with some stunning arrangements and more importantly, some good songs.This succeeds where some other female psych/pop/funk/orchestral records fail, for instance the Nancy Priddy LP is pretty over rated, the songs are a bit lacking and too twee for my liking. Here however there is a weight to the songs and delivery which is far more mature and less bubblegum.A song like 'Insel Meiner Angst' is full of sweeping, autumnal string passages and you can feel the sadness seeping through the music. Moving stuff.How can you go wrong with a cover like that as well.
